A ‘Bridge’ To A Healthy Life

Playing bridge is akin to mental gymnastics. In this regard, stimulating your brain regularly is believed to be an important component in keeping diseases at bay, including Alzheimer’s and Senile Dementia. The game has an allure for an estimated 25 million players in the United States alone, including famous Bridge enthusiasts such as Warren Buffett and Bill Gates. Researchers discovered that Bridge offers intellectual and social stimulation, therefore the game has amazing benefits besides boosting mental health. Bridge’s intricacies make it particularly appealing for those who want to sharpen acuity with mental gymnastics. An area in the brain used in playing bridge stimulates the immune system. Researchers suggest that is because players must use memory, visualization and sequencing. Bridge also helps improve hand eye coordination. For example, if one is used to shuffling and serving cards, they have already improved their hand eye coordination a great deal.

THE IDEA: BRIDGE TOURISM

A Fresh Approach

Our idea is to encourage the youth of Pakistan to participate in these brilliant mind game tournaments and represent their homeland in the international arena. This presents the opportunity for Bridge Tourism, as there are 142 countries around the world that hold Bridge tournaments. These 142 countries organize National Championships every year and if Pakistani youth participates in these championship events, it will not only earn them international exposure, but will also help build international relations. Through Bridge Tourism participants will also get a chance to explore the countries they will be playing in, and benefit from sight seeing, as well as experiencing a whole new world of cultures, customs and flavors. This is an incredible opportunity to promote Pakistan’s name globally, while earning medals and trophies for the country, and experiencing life through tourism.
